Thanksgiving Food Drive Each year our school sponsors a Thanksgiving Food drive as a service project to benefit the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. This will take place the week of November 12-16. Tables will be set up in the main hallway on which to place items. Below is a list of grades and the foods that are requested by that group. This will help provide a balance of items. Each child should try to bring one food item from the list. Explain to your child this is one way to practice a corporal work of mercy to benefit others in physical need. the first criterion Jesus gave for good judgement was "I was hungry and you gave me to eat." You could even extend the lesson by spending some time getting to know hunger. Some evening have a very light meal. Make it small-- a small bowl of soup, a little sandwich, or a salad.) Afterwards, talk about hunger in the world, and how it exists even here in our own community. Thank you in advance for your generosity. -- Student Council Officers, James Myers, President Preschool: Stove Top Stuffing Kindergarten: Peanut Butter, Jelly 1st grade: Macaroni & cheese 2nd grade: Canned vegetables; or spaghetti sauce 3rd grade: Canned fruit; or spaghetti noodles 4th grade: juice; or boxed potato mixes 5th grade: Canned soups (no creamed soups) or crackers 6th grade: Pancake mix or syrup 7th grade: Cake mixes or brownie mixes 8th grade: Muffin mixes or noodles of any kind
