Dear Parents, First, a huge thank you to all families who supported our recent QSP/HASA fundraiser. As you know, the money raised from this goes directly back into the school for special events, such as, First Reconciliation Reception, Confirmation Reception, classroom needs, Science Fair awards, and Field Day to name a few. We did not really set a maximum goal this year since we had only just finished the Walkathon for the playground. Early estimates are that the students sold just over $15,000 worth of merchandise. Our final profit from this won't be known until after all the money is collected. Thank you for your generosity! Attached to this newsletter are two important announcements regarding the upcoming HASA meeting, and also information about nominating one of our teachers for the Queen of Angels Light of Learning Award, which will be presented at our celebration of Catholic Schools Week in late January. Academic and Angel Awards for the First Quarter will be presented after the 8:30 am Mass on Friday, November 9. We invite parents to attend and celebrate these achievements with your children. T.A.G. Art will be hosting two different Art Classes for interested students during the month of November. See the attached announcement, as well as a survey regarding other areas of interest that might be provided. You will soon see a request coming home from Student Council regarding a Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive. All food collected will benefit our own St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry. Congratulations to the 8th Grade Volleyball Team who defeated St. Rose in the CYO Tournament to become the CYO Champions! The girls were also named League Champions for their undefeated season. Team members include Ashley Fenker, Katie Houser, Rose Lawrence, Tia Neuhaus, Morgan Sheets, Ave Stout, and Kaitlin Urban. The team was coached by Tim Houser, and assisted by Tom Fenker and Liz Houser. We also want to congratulate the 6th grade team on their 2nd place finish in the 6th grade tournament. We are proud of all these girls! Please keep saving Box Tops, Campbell's Soup Labels, and used Ink Jet Cartridges. We just submitted 4,975 Box Tops for redemption, which will return $497 to the school. We also just selected a large number of items from the Campbell's Soup Catalogue to redeem about 75,000 points we have accumulated. Every little bit helps! Thank you.
