Mission
Statement
The mission of Queen of
Angels School is to accept the command
of Jesus to teach the children in our
care to achieve their highest potential
spiritually, academically, socially,
emotionally and physically. Our
pledge is to provide a caring environment
in which every child is respected.
All children will be taught Catholic
Doctrine along with the responsibilities
of living their Faith in today's world.

The purpose of Queen of Angels
School is to give each student the experience
and background needed to demonstrate an
understanding of the Gospel values:
community service, forgiveness, peace, and
justice. In addition we strive to
provide the highest caliber of education
in spirituality, academics, morality, and
technology. We believe the school
has an important relationship with the whole
parish and neighborhood. Queen of
Angels School offers many other activities
for our students along with the academic,
spiritual and moral education taught throughout
the day. Children may become involved
in such activities as service projects,
sports, school play, Rainbows for All God's
Children, and a foreign language curriculum.
Extra services to support our families include
a hot lunch program, before school care
and after school care, school counselor,
and pastoral associate.
Practicing the Faith
Catholic teachings touch every
aspect of student life at Queen of Angels
School. The school plays a vital role
in the lives of Queen of Angels parishioners.
Liturgy twice a week, celebration of Feast
days, and Church year seasonal traditions
unite students with one another and members
of the community. Our Pastor and other
spiritual leaders help students prepare
for the sacraments and gain a universal
understanding of the Roman Catholic Faith.
The faculty and staff of Queen
of Angels School realize the importance
of family as the first and principal educators
of their children. Family and school
working together strive to help each student
reach the following goals:
-
Develop to their fullest
potential through academic programs that
strive to meet individual needs.
-
Learn the responsibilities
of a Catholic/Christian lifestyle through
knowledge of the Faith and service towards
others.
-
Respect others and all
God's creation in a multicultural world.
-
Develop a moral and spiritual
sense and demonstrate fairness, justice,
kindness, and honesty to all.
-
Learn about democracy and
the importance of living up to the responsibilities
of a good citizenship.
-
Acquire an appreciation
of the fine arts.
-
Be knowledgeable about
technology and its importance for access
to information, communication and learning.
School Curriculum
Our School and faculty are
accredited by the State of Indiana with a
First Class Commission, and by the North
Central Association.
All our texts are adopted to meet state
as well as diocesan standards of expectations
and excellence. Students receive instruction
in the basic academic subjects including
Religion, mathematics, English, spelling,
reading, science/health, social studies
and music. Physical education, art
and computer science are also important
parts of the curriculum. The curriculum is
also aligned with Bishop Dwenger High School
where students are encouraged to earn the
Academic Honors Diploma. Skills necessary
for students to complete the Core40
Curriculum in high school are introduced and
developed in our K-8 program.
Three and four year olds take
a giant step toward self-sufficiency, confidence
and independence at Queen of Angels.
Our pre-school facilities offer children
a comfortable, friendly environment.
Our experienced teachers focus on each
child's strengths while encouraging them
to explore new avenues for learning. For
more information, visit our
preschool
webpage.
Elementary School
Working with parents to help
students make the most of their formative
years, our experienced faculty introduces
the curriculum with enthusiasm and sensitivity.
They construct a solid foundation to help
each student succeed in their academic career.
Students in grades 3 and 4 are invited to
join the Young Astronauts, an extra curricular
science club, which meets after school.
Students may participate in extra curricular
athletics when they enter grade 5.
A strong emphasis is placed on the core
curriculum of Religion, language arts, math,
science and social studies.
Boy Scout, Girls Scouts, and
a literacy program provide extra curricular
opportunities. Students may begin training
to be altar servers or cross bearers in
grade 4. Other students serve as lectors or
